PetSitter is a platform that connects pet owners with qualified and professional pet sitters. This platform allows owners to provide reliable care for their pets while they are at work, traveling or away for any obligation. On the platform, owners can select and book a suitable sitter for their pet according to their requirements and needs. Owners can create a profile for their pet and provide details of any special needs or preferences as well as leave reviews for the sitters. Sitters can set up their profile and provide their pet preferences and availability, leave reviews for the owners. PetSitter provides a sense of security and safety for owners and their pets and makes it easier for sitters to find clients.

Detailed description of the project:

Who is the database and project intended for, i.e. who, according to your idea, will be responsible for owning the database and the application and providing them as a service - is it a company/institution/organization or an individual and a brief description of their needs

• This project is intended for pet owners that need to be away from home for whatever reason and animal lovers who find joy in being around and spending time with animals and are willing to look after other people’s pets. Pet owners can request a booking from a pet sitter to take care of the pet. The project and database will be owned and maintained by an individual or a company that wants to support a platform like this. The goal is to connect pet owners with pet sitters and provide a service at the comfort of the pet’s home.

What problems in the company or organization will you solve with your creation?

• Many pet owners struggle to find a trusted or willing person who can look after their pet while they are away, and sometimes obligations can come urgently and there is no time to make an appointment with a friend or family member who is available immediately. Pet hotels are often overbooked and you can’t know for sure if your pet will get the appropriate attention and care while it stays there. With PetSitter you can book a sitter at any time and provide them with all the details and needs of your pet very easily, and your pet will stay home in a familiar and safe environment.

What types of users will have access to the database and the project - in terms of types of employees in the company/institution or clients?

• The administrator (maintainer) will have full access to the database and the project and would be able to do modifications if needed.

• The pet owner will be able to create a profile and a pet for their profile, as well as set details about their pet and create bookings.

• The pet sitter will be able to create a profile and provide details about their service and accept or deny bookings.

If there are other similar ideas in the same company or in the environment, or there are already ready-made solutions in the world, how is your proposal different?

• I am not aware of other ideas like this in our country. Traditional pet hotels exist but they create unnecessary stress for animals and disrupt their daily routine. The difference is that PetSitter provides the service at the comfort of the pets’ home which significantly reduces separation anxiety. By being a digital platform and not maintaining a physical location like a pet hotel, the prices on PetSitter should be more affordable than a pet hotel.

Is it a web, mobile and/or desktop application?

• This project is intended as a web application which will allow access from any device, any browser and any operating system.
