Brief project summary
Tasty Tabs is an all-in-one restaurant management solution designed to address the operational challenges of modern restaurants. The platform integrates core functionalities such as table reservations, employee scheduling, inventory management, payroll automation, and online ordering, ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for customers and streamlined processes for restaurant staff.
Detailed project description
Who is the database and the project that you envision known to and who will be responsible for owning the database and application that provides them as a service - is it a company/institution/organization? Provide an individual and a brief description of their needs.
Tasty Tabs is primarily intended for a restaurant or a small hospitality chain that wants a unified platform for managing reservations, orders, and staffing. An example individual stakeholder would be John Smith, the restaurant’s manager, who needs daily oversight of the reservation system, order tracking, shift schedules, and inventory updates so that everything runs smoothly in one place.
What problems in the company or organization will you solve with your work?
Tasty Tabs addresses multiple pain points. It replaces scattered, manual processes by offering an integrated reservation system, real-time inventory deduction, automated shift scheduling, and transparent payroll calculations. This helps the organization reduce errors, save time, and ensure more consistent service for customers.
What types of users will have access to the database and the project - in terms of types of company/institution employees or customers?
The main types of users are managers, front-of-house staff, back-of-house staff, and customers. Managers oversee inventory, payroll, and shifts; front-of-house staff take orders, approve reservations, and open or close tabs; back-of-house staff handle kitchen orders and keep track of inventory usage; and customers can log in to place orders, view the menu, and make reservations.
If there are other similar projects in the company or in the environment, or there are already ready-made solutions in the world, how is your proposed project different?
Tasty Tabs stands out by integrating point-of-sale, reservations, inventory management, and payroll into one cohesive system, whereas many existing solutions only cover one or two of these functions. It also offers simple yet powerful tools for managing online orders, transferring tabs between employees, and generating detailed reports and analytics that track both operational and financial metrics in a single interface.
Is it a web, mobile and/or desktop application?
Tasty Tabs is primarily built as a web application that runs on any modern browser, with a responsive design that works well on smartphones and tablets.
