Short description about the project

This project aims to design and implement a comprehensive database for a medical system that supports the organized storage and management of healthcare data. The system will include detailed information about patients, doctors, medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments, all connected through properly defined relationships to ensure data consistency and integrity.

The database will allow efficient data entry, updating, and retrieval, making it easier for users to access accurate and up-to-date medical information. It will store personal patient details, doctor profiles, records of scheduled and completed examinations, as well as information about diagnoses and prescribed treatments. By structuring the data in a logical and connected way, the system will enable better tracking of patient history and medical activities over time.

Additionally, the system is designed to minimize errors during data handling and improve overall reliability. The main objective is to create a clear, well-organized, and efficient database solution that enhances the management of medical records and supports faster and more effective decision-making in a medical environment.

Detailed description about the project

Who is the database and project intended for, that is, who, according to your idea, will be responsible for owning the database and application and providing them as a service - is it a company/institution/organization or is it an individual and a brief description of their needs?

  • The database is intended for healthcare institutions such as hospitals, clinics, or private medical practices. The system would be owned and maintained by the institution, which would provide it as a service to its staff. Their main needs include efficient organization of patient data, quick access to medical records, secure data storage, and reliable management of examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.

What problems in the company or organization will you solve with your creation?

  • The system will solve problems related to disorganized or incomplete medical records, slow access to information, and errors during data entry. It will also improve communication between staff, reduce paperwork, and ensure that patient information is accurate and easily accessible.

What types of users will have access to the database and the project - in terms of types of employees in the company/institution or clients?

  • The system will have different types of users, including doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and possibly patients. Doctors will access and update medical records, nurses will assist with data entry and patient care information, administrative staff will manage scheduling and patient details, and patients may have limited access to view their own records.

If there are other similar ideas in the same company or in the environment, or there are already ready-made solutions in the world, how is your proposal different?

  • Although many medical database systems already exist, this project focuses on simplicity, clarity, and ease of use. It is designed to be user-friendly, adaptable to smaller healthcare institutions, and focused on essential features without unnecessary complexity. The system emphasizes efficient data organization and quick access.

Is it a web, mobile, and/or desktop application?

  • The system is primarily designed as a web application, allowing access from different devices through a browser. Optionally, it can be extended to support mobile devices for easier access and flexibility.
