About the project

The Integrated Student Information System of the Next Generation (in short ISISng) is a long-term framework of development and scientific research projects geared towards innovative models of organization of teaching and research, and organization of knowledge and processes within the university environment.

The system is developed at a University environment mainly as a research and development project but is intended to be ready to use. Several of the modules have been in use in an official student service in an institution with 2000 students and 80 teaching staff.

There have been many prototypes and developments of the system since the beginning. The last iteration developed using Apache Tapestry and Hibernate, was agreed to be open-sourced by it's authors under an Apache license.
